Our extensions
In our salons, we provide the highest quality hair extensions. Over the years we have done a lot of research into which hair extensions are the best and we find that Russian hair extensions are the highest quality and are literally undetectable from your own hair. Furthermore, you can treat them like your own hair which is always a bonus.
We are considered as one of London’s most prestigious salons for hair extensions and therefore we travel extensively around Russia and to secure relationships with leading suppliers to ensure that our hair extensions are only the best quality.
Throughout the years, we have found that the ‘tape’ extensions are the best way to apply hair extensions. Tape extensions are easy to apply and remove, and are virtually seamless against your own hair. They also won’t damage your original hair, as other type of hair extensions may do.
How to maintain ‘tape in’ Russian hair extensions
Although our hair extensions are the highest quality human hair, you still need to maintain and follow the rules provided, to prolong their lifetime. Below you can find our expert tips on how to take care of your tape in Russian hair extensions.
1. The First Washing
We recommend waiting at least 48 hours before washing your hair for the first time after you have had your hair extensions applied. This will allow the tape to stick well together and to dry well, which will help your hair extensions last longer.
2. Brushing
It is important to bear in mind – even before you decide to opt for hair extensions, that you will need to brush your hair a lot. The minimum brushing time is 2-3 times per day, as your new hair will tangle slightly. You should invest in a good hair extension brush, or a brush made from boar hair to ensure that you are not pulling your hair and to easily detangle your hair. Do not use a comb as it might pull your extensions down and can even damage your own hair.
Tip: Start brushing your hair at the bottom and work your way up to the roots (detangle your hair section by section, starting at the bottom).
3. Washing
We recommend washing your hair less frequently – about every 3 days.
Be prepared that you will need to allow extra time for your hair washing ritual as you should not scrub your hair or do any mashing movements that could tangle your hair during washing.
Tip: You should section your hair and apply a shampoo lightly on your hair and gently distribute this down to the roots.
4. Shampoos and hair care products
Moisturising shampoos and conditioners are NOT recommended as these can cause slipping of your tape. Also, we recommend not using any shampoo and / or conditioner that contains sulfates.
Similarly, you should avoid the use of any oils, such as; argan oil, moroccan oil etc.
Tip: link to shampoos they use, blow dry your hair immediately
5. Styling
As mentioned in the above section, you should blow dry your hair immediately after washing. This will make your hair look much nicer and the extensions won’t tangle. If your hair dryer allows it, try using the cool setting.
Before every heat styling, make sure you use a heat protection spray. This is really important because even though your hair extensions are made from real human hair, they don’t have any roots and therefore they do not contain the same oils and nutrients as your own hair.
We would also recommend to heat style your hair only when it is completely necessary, as heat styling can wear your extensions out.
Tip: When you are curling your hair, divide and curl the hair in each of the extensions. This will make them look more natural and ensure they are completely invisible and hidden in your own locks.
6. Sleeping
Yes. There is also a special way to sleep if you have hair extensions. Well, it is not altogether special. It is simply a good idea to put your hair into a ponytail or a braid so that they won’t tangle during your bedtime.
Tip: Sleeping on a silky pillow will also help you fight the frizz.
7. Professional Maintenance
Professional maintenance is required every 6 weeks. When you come for maintenance sessions your stylist will exchange the adhesive tape on your extensions and apply it back to your hair. This will ensure that your own hair won’t get damaged and that your hair extensions won’t accidentally fall out or become visible.
